Eastville, Virginia - Eastern Shore of Virginia

Welcome to Eastville

Eastville, Virginia Historic Courthouse Green

Explore the quaint village of Eastville with it's historic homes, art galleries, bed and breakfasts, and the historic Eastville Inn restaurant.

Eastville is Northampton County's 'Little Williamsburg’ and it's heart is the historic courthouse green.

The visitor is invited to a self guided tour of the Courthouse Green's 1700 buildings, the 1731 Courthouse, 1770 Clerk's Office and 1770 Debtor's Prison. (Open weekdays only) A Confederate monument is in the center of the green. Early court records were kept in clerk homes and have miraculously survived to the present day. These documents, dating from 1632, are the oldest continuous county court records in the United States and can be viewed by the visitor.
