Thursday, April 26, 2012......“How to Start or Expand a Business in Northampton County”
Northampton County Administrator Katie Nunez and Panel will help new business owners or business owners expanding their businesses explore ways to get the partnership with their local county started off on the right foot. The workshop will be held from Noon to 1:30 pm at the former Northampton Middle School in Machipongo.

May 18th -20th, 2012.....Lower Chesapeake Bay Black Drum Classic Fishing Tournament
Location: Eastern Shore - Cape Charles Harbor
Lines In: Friday, May 18th at 8:00 p.m.
Last Weigh-In: Sunday, May 20th 2:00 p.m.
A 42 hour fishing tournament to catch the elusive black drum. The world record holder is 113 pounds! Cash prizes are awarded to the largest fish weighed in during the tournament. Entry fees apply.

Mark you calendars and bring your lawn chairs and your choice of liquid refreshments to Northampton Branch PVA's series of "Lectures on the Lawn" dates, times, and locations are as follows:
Beginning on Sunday, May 20th at 2:00 with Old Castle, the home of Rick & Catie Hubbard. Mentioned in Whitelaws as being built in 1722, the current structure was probably begun in circa 1799 with additions in the early to mid 1800's expanding it to its current size.
Sunday, June 10th at 2:00; Eyreville, the home of Roger Buyrn with its complex of unique out buildings will be discussed.
September 16th at 2:00; Salt Grove, a site on the Eyre Hall property will be the focus; learn how and why it got its name from Eyre Baldwin.
Each lecture, given by a PVA member, will give you an opportunity to hear the story of the Eastern Shore home they have rescued or reconstructed or renovated or all three! Hearing the history of the home along with first hand opportunities to see the external details of each place will provide an entertaining and enlightening afternoon. This series of lectures are focused on homes on Cherrystone Creek, .
