Bicycling
Nothing is more fun or beautiful than a bicycle ride up and down the roads of the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
All of Northampton County is geared for bicycling with fairly flat terrain and gentle inclines on both paved roads and unpaved roads and paths.
Bicycling on the bayside of Lankford Highway (also know as Rt. 13 and Highway 13) takes one up and down all of the necks adjoining the Chesapeake Bay. Bicycling on the seaside of Lankford Highway, one can travel Seaside Road (Rt. 600) all of the way from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to the town of Accomac.
On this road, you will travel approximately 50 miles of flat, scenic back country road filled with farmland and old homesteads.
