Fishing
The Chesapeake Bay and its creeks and tributaries in Northampton County are home to Bluefish, Cobia, Cod, Croaker, Black Drum, Red Drum, Flounder, Kingfish, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Perch, Pompano, Porgy, Sea Bass, Shark, Spot, Skate, Swordfish, Tarpon, Toadfish, Gray Trout, Speckled Trout, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo.
The Virginia Marine Resources Commission requires that you purchase a fishing license. You can purchase a fishing license online or in local tackle shops. There is no fee to fish from the Cape Charles Fishing Pier or Morleys Wharf.
Charter boats and head boats are available for fishing as well.
